What is it?
A carbon footprint is a sum of emissions of greenhouse gases caused directly or indirectly by a given individual, organization, event, or product.
A carbon footprint covers the emissions of:
- carbon dioxide,
- methane,

- and other greenhouse gases
expressed as a CO2 equivalent. An organization's carbon footprint comprises emissions caused by all its activities, including energy consumption by the buildings and means of transportation it uses.
A carbon footprint of a product comprises emissions caused by the extraction of raw materials used to manufacture it, its production, use, storage or recycling after use.
