Why do we need energy storages?

The reason is quite simple.

RES are quite unpredictable energy sources, depending on e.g. weather conditions - energy storages allow to accumulate and store generated surplus energy and use it when there is a demand for it. Additionally, they guarantee energy independence.

  • Energy storages are based on a simple operation principle - the electric energy supplied to batteries is stored in a chemical form, and then it is transformed again and released as electric energy.
  • Energy storages constitute a good solution for those who do not consume a lot of energy during the day and wish to use it for their own purposes, instead of giving it back to the grid.

In western countries the market of residential energy storage systems has been growing impressively in recent years, if we consider the implementation of such systems and the reduction of costs of the storages themselves.
