More than 2,250 olive ridley turtles have hatched on a Mexican beach in the city of El Desemboque this year.

All indications are that the record result is due to the coronavirus pandemic
Olive ridley turtles lay eggs once a year, the females then go out en masse to the beaches and each leave hundreds of eggs there.
Even before they hatch, they are endangered because their eggs are harvested by humans for consumption.
This is why the lockdown had such a positive effect on the growth of the hatched turtles.
Do you know other good effects of the pandemic
