PGE has launched an energy storage facility
Polish Energy Group (PGE) has launched Poland's first electricity storage facility using Tesla Powerpack modules in Rzepedzi, Podkarpackie Province.
The power of the installation is about 2.1 MW and the capacity is 4.2 MWh.
The Polish energy storage facilities built so far have been designed and constructed mainly for research (R&D) purposes. The construction of the storage facility in Rzepedzi is the first investment in response to the specific needs of PGE's customers, related to improving power quality and providing backup power in case of emergencies or scheduled works, it was also stated.
According to PGE Group's new strategy, we plan to build at least 800 MW of new energy storage facilities by 2030.
The investment in Rzepedzi is the first step in achieving this goal.
